CIMC SOE delivered China’s first 12,000 m3 LNG bunkering vessel

On April 28, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co.,Ltd.(CIMC SOE) delivered China’s first 12,000 m3 liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation and bunkering vessel, “Haiyang Shiyou 302”, which was constructed for CNOOC Limited.

“Haiyang Shiyou 302” is the first LNG transportation and bunkering vessel in China which has been classed by China Classification Society (CCS) and designed and built according to its specifications.

The vessel measures 132.9 meters in overall length, 22 meters in width and 11.8 meters in depth, with a deck area larger than a standard soccer field and a total cargo hold capacity of 12,000 m3, which can meet the gas demand of 480,000 households for one month.

The bunkering vessel is equipped with full rotaring propellers of pull-type paddle design, which can raise the speed and reduce the fuel consumption simultaneously, and reduce the energy up to 1 ton/day.

The “Ocean Oil 302” will provide flexible refueling services for LNG vessels in China’s river and sea areas, which is of great significance in optimizing China’s energy structure and accelerating the formation of green production methods.

It is understood that there are 9 LNG bunkering vessels under construction in the world, of which 7 are built by CIMC SOE. The company has completely independent LNG ship design and construction capacity, and has delivered more than 40 small and medium-sized LNG carriers and bunkering vessels.
