On April 20, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, launched the first batch-built “Sea Whale” 85,000DWT bulk carrier.
The score of this bulk carrier was 90.7 points, which breaks the record for the same type of bulk carriers.
This new Panama 85,000 DWT bulk carriers in “Sea Whale” series was independently researched and developed by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for CHN Energy Shipping Development Company.
The ship features a depth of 20.15m, a structural draft of 14m, a deadweight of 85,000T, and an economic speed of 14kn. Its performance indexes such as fuel consumption, speed and capacity have reached the world’s leading level. The bulk carrier is designed to meet the requirements of “i-Ship(N,M,E,I)” of CCS and equipped with CCS AMPS high voltage shore power system.
It is reported that Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has already delivered 8 bulk carriers in “Sea Whale” series.
