On November 3, Southeast Shipyard—a subsidiary of ujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding) —signed a contract with Orkim for the construction of two 9,000 DWT product oil tankers.

This 9,000-dwt, double-hull, double-bottom product tanker is designed for international service and is capable of transporting refined petroleum products—such as diesel and jet fuel—as well as certain compliant chemical products.
The vessel’s hull line has been optimized to meet Tier III and EEDI 3 requirements and can be equipped with systems such as an inert gas system and a ballast water treatment system, offering excellent safety and environmental performance. With its moderate size and flexible berthing capabilities, the vessel is well-suited for medium- and short-haul oil product distribution in regions such as Southeast Asia and nearshore waters, making it highly adaptable to market needs.
This project marks the third collaboration between Southeast Shipyard and ORKIM, serving as a significant milestone in their long-standing relationship built on mutual trust and an ever-deepening partnership. Leveraging its extensive experience in tanker construction, Southeast Shipyard continues to strengthen its competitive edge within the small-to-medium-sized tanker segment, while consistently upholding its reputation for high-quality deliveries.
