On September 29, Yiu Lian Dockyards (Zhoushan) Limited held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of its green and intelligent production base project. The project is being constructed by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering. Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Industry, and Wang Shifeng, Chairman of CCCC Third Harbor Engineering, among others, attended the ceremony.
The Zhejiang Yiu Lian Green and Smart Shipbuilding Production Base Project (Phase I) is located within the premises of Zhejiang Yiu Lian Ship Repair & Building Co., Ltd. in Qushan Town, Daishan County, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The proposed No. 3 dry dock (measuring 410 meters in length, 85 meters in width, and 15.2 meters in depth) is designed as a 300,000-ton class facility, situated in the area between the existing No. 2 dry dock and the wharf on the east side; additionally, a new platform will be constructed on the site to the east of the No. 3 dry dock.

Upon completion, the project will significantly boost regional shipbuilding and repair capacity, drive the transformation of Zhoushan’s shipbuilding industry toward green and intelligent operations, provide essential infrastructure support for Daishan’s development into a world-class base for shipbuilding and offshore engineering equipment, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional marine economy.
At the ceremony, Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Industry, stated that Zhoushan Yiu Lian serves as a core strategic pivot for the company’s ship repair and conversion operations. The green and intelligent production base project represents a historic leap in the company’s production capacity and stands as a landmark achievement in the green transformation of the shipbuilding industry and in collaborative efforts between central and local authorities. Moving forward, China Merchants Industry will remain committed to high-end, intelligent, and green development, fostering the high-quality growth of the shipbuilding industry through excellent project execution.
Wang Shifeng, Chairman of CCCC Third Harbor Engineering, stated that the Yiu Lian Dockyards (Zhoushan) green and intelligent manufacturing base project is a key supporting initiative of Zhejiang Province’s “Thousand Projects, Trillion-Yuan Investment” program and a crucial driver in Zhoushan’s effort to build a world-class base for shipbuilding, marine engineering, and ship repair.
