On September 1, Zhoushan Changhong International held a steel-cutting ceremony for the eleventh 115,000 DWT product/crude oil tanker ordered by Greek shipowner Navios.
Zhoushan Changhong International states that this series represents a new generation of LR2/Aframax oil tankers equipped with deep-well pumps, developed in compliance with the latest regulations and rules. Classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR), the vessels have an overall length of approximately 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, and a depth of 21.5 meters.
In addition to conventional fuel oil, the vessels are designed to be adaptable for future operation using clean fuels such as methanol or LNG. Furthermore, the provision for a medium-voltage shore power connection facilitates future integration with shore-based power systems; this effectively reduces atmospheric emissions—such as carbon and sulfur—associated with the use of auxiliary generators while the vessel is berthed. As a highly effective eco-friendly solution, High-Voltage Shore Connection (HVSC) technology is increasingly being adopted by shipowners.
In addition, the vessel utilizes an advanced Framo deep-well pump system—featuring a single-pump-per-tank hydraulic drive—which enhances cargo versatility and offers greater operational value.
