On August 28, Guangzhou Shipyard International, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, broke ground on a diving support vessel being built for the Shanghai Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport.
This vessel is an offshore engineering ship equipped with azimuth electric propulsion and a DP-3 dynamic positioning system. It is capable of lifting and installing large structures in deep water, supporting saturation and air diving operations, supporting ROV operations, and conducting emergency rescue and evacuation of personnel from offshore facilities.
The groundbreaking of this vessel marks a new milestone in China’s deep-sea emergency rescue and salvage capabilities and serves as a vivid example of multi-party collaboration in advancing the development of a maritime power.
