The Nuclear Energy Maritime Organization (NEMO) marked the launch of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) ATLAS Initiative with an invitation-only reception bringing together senior representatives from the IAEA, government, industry and the international nuclear and maritime community.
The reception was supported by Co-Headline Sponsors American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and EXCEL Services Corporation and kindly hosted by K&L Gates in Washington, D.C.
ATLAS – Atomic Technologies Licensed for Applications at Sea – is an IAEA initiative supporting international cooperation around the safe, secure and safeguarded use of nuclear technologies at sea.

NEMO has consultative status with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and works closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), including through its engagement with the ATLAS Initiative, to strengthen cooperation between the nuclear and maritime communities.
