Brazilian offshore vessel operator OceanPact recently announced via its official website that it will acquire a Brazilian ship repair yard named Dock Brasil through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Estaleiro Farol de São Tomé Ltda. The transaction is valued at US$23.1 million, with closing expected on August 31.
This acquisition will further solidify Dock Brasil’s positioning as a shipyard focused on serving the offshore vessel market. The shipyard primarily undertakes ship repair work and has previously collaborated with OceanPact.
OceanPact stated: “The company has a long-standing relationship with Dock Brasil. This transaction allows us to maintain the shipyard’s market positioning while expanding our service capabilities.”
Dock Brasil commented: “This acquisition will drive business expansion, attract new investment, and enhance the shipyard’s ability to capitalize on opportunities in the shipbuilding industry. The acquisition will not affect existing clients, partners, employees, or ongoing projects.”
Several months prior to announcing this acquisition, OceanPact had reached a business merger agreement with CBO Group. Under the agreement, CBO will merge into OceanPact; the combined entity will operate a fleet of 73 vessels, generate annual revenue exceeding $778 million, and hold an order backlog of approximately $2.7 billion.
