Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding recently marked two major vessel milestones: it launched a 9,000 TEU containership for Pacific International Lines (PIL) and a 13,600 TEU boxship for COSCO SHIPPING Lines. Separately, the shipyard held a steel-cutting ceremony to officially kick off construction of the second 18,600 cbm LNG bunkering vessel ordered by Avenir LNG.
Launching of PIL’s 9,000 TEU container ship H1962A.
This vessel is the second 9,000 TEU container ship built by Hudong-Zhonghua for PIL. Measuring 274 meters in length and 45.6 meters in breadth, the ship incorporates the latest design concepts and is equipped with systems such as a high-efficiency main engine, energy-saving devices, a shaft generator, and a high-voltage shore power connection. A series of innovative design features endow the vessel with low overall energy consumption, superior speed performance, and excellent eco-friendly credentials.

Launching of COSCO SHIPPING Lines’ 13,600 TEU container ship H1947A
The 13,600 TEU large container ship is another eco-friendly vessel independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua. Measuring approximately 336 meters in length and 51 meters in breadth, the ship has a maximum capacity of 14,132 TEU, including 2,000 slots for refrigerated containers. Incorporating state-of-the-art design concepts, the vessel is equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems (scrubbers) and energy-saving devices; it is designed to accommodate future retrofitting for green fuels while ensuring low energy consumption, high speed, and superior environmental performance.

Construction Begins on Ibaibazar’s 18,600 m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel H1931A

This vessel is a “Version 3.0” membrane-type LNG bunkering vessel and the fourth 18,600-cubic-meter LNG bunkering vessel built by Hudong-Zhonghua. It has an overall length of 135.9 meters, a beam of 24.5 meters, and a design speed of 12 knots; it utilizes the GTT Mark III Flex cargo containment system and achieves a boil-off rate as low as 0.16% per day.
