On June 18, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC), a subsidiary of CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry co.,ltd.(DSIC), signed the delivery contract for the 37,000 DWT Great Lakes bulk carrier “POLSTEAMROS,” built for Poland’s PZM. This marks the ninth vessel delivered by SHGSIC in 2026, successfully completing the company’s production targets for the first half of the year.

The vessel is 199.99 meters long, with a beam of 23.7 meters, and a design speed of 13 knots. As the third vessel in a series featuring a main engine with provisions for methanol fuel and EGR upgrades, its propulsion system complies with IMO Tier III emission standards and EEDI Phase III energy efficiency regulations. Equipped with energy-saving devices such as SCR nitrogen oxide reduction systems and shaft generators, the vessel is classified by the UK’s Lloyd’s Register (LR), balancing operational efficiency with low-carbon environmental protection.

During sea trials, the vessel’s performance exceeded all design specifications across the board. Its watertight compartments achieved zero seepage and zero leakage, and its excellent construction quality and efficient commissioning process earned high praise from the shipowner and LR’s surveyors.
