Recently, the renovation and expansion project of the outfitting quays at COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore Co., Ltd., a Chinese shipbuilder, successfully passed the final quality inspection on April 20, 2026. This marks the successful completion of the project’s main construction phase and confirms that it meets the conditions for handover.

According to reports, the project is located at the eastern end of the Qidong Shipbuilding Industrial Park in Jiangsu Province, China, and serves as a key offshore engineering infrastructure facility on the northern shore of the Yangtze River estuary. The project involves the construction of a new 220-meter-long, 300,000-ton-class outfitting berth, which connects with the existing wharf to form a total wharf frontage of 1,420 meters. Since construction began in September 2025, the project has been successfully completed in approximately eight months.
As the project neared completion, the shipbuilder was facing its most demanding production schedule. Consequently, immediately after the project was handed over, the company expedited corrective actions in accordance with the inspection findings and actively coordinated with relevant departments to ensure a smooth transition from the terminal’s “acceptance” to its “commissioning.”

The timely commissioning of the quay has provided critical support for the smooth progress of COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore’s current order backlog, effectively ensuring the construction schedule of key national offshore engineering projects and further strengthening the company’s market competitiveness in the high-end offshore engineering equipment manufacturing sector.
Currently, the quay has officially commenced ship outfitting operations, and the Asset Management Department is simultaneously advancing the various specialized acceptance inspections and the filing of the final acceptance report to ensure that the project is fully compliant when it begins operations.
