Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Delivers 115,000 DWT LR2 Tanker to Dynacom

On April 17, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(DSIC), successfully signed off and delivered the 115,000 DWT LR2 product tanker “Simi” to Greek shipowner Dynacom.

The vessel is classed by LR and flies the Liberian flag. With an overall length of approximately 249.8 meters, a beam of 44 meters, and a draft of 21.2 meters, it is designed to carry crude oil and refined products with a flash point below 60°C, and offers excellent port accessibility and seaworthiness. Its maneuverability, economic performance, and energy-efficient, eco-friendly characteristics all surpass those of comparable vessels, giving it a strong competitive edge in the market.

The vessel achieved a sea trial integrity score of 97.5 out of 100. The entire sea trial lasted 183 hours, including 78 hours of safe main engine operation and 120 hours spent undergoing inspections. This sea trial not only set a new record for the shortest main engine operating time in the series but also delivered significant energy-saving and cost-reduction benefits, with fuel consumption reduced by 17.2 tons and diesel consumption by 28.4 tons compared to the previous vessel, resulting in direct cost savings of approximately 400,000 yuan.
