CIMC SOE Successfully Launches 12,500 m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel for Vitol International Shipping

On April 12, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (CIMC SOE) successfully launched the 12,500 m³ LNG bunkering vessel (Hull No. S1093) being built for Vitol International Shipping. This milestone marks a significant breakthrough in the project’s construction and signals the official transition into the outfitting and commissioning phase.

As a flagship product independently developed and designed by CIMC SOE, this 12,500 m³ LNG bunkering vessel is equipped with a high-efficiency electric propulsion system. It is capable of precisely meeting the stringent requirements for precise vessel maneuvering during LNG bunkering operations, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

During the design process for this vessel type, CIMC SOE strictly adhered to the latest regulations and standards governing shipbuilding and gas transportation and bunkering. From structural design to equipment configuration, the company ensured the vessel’s safety and environmental performance across the board, enabling it to meet the ever-increasing demands of the global shipping market.

This year, CIMC SOE has confirmed orders for at least three LNG bunkering vessels, including two 20,000 m³-class vessels and one 18,900 m³-class vessel. As of early February, CIMC SOE held an order backlog of 10 20,000 m³-class LNG bunkering vessels and three 18,900 m³-class LNG bunkering vessels.
