DYP0S DP5000 Powers the Delivery of “CRBG Pile No. 1”

On March 31, 2026, the world’s largest pile-driving vessel, the “CRBG Pile No. 1”, was officially delivered in Nantong, Jiangsu, marking a significant leap forward in China’s marine engineering equipment manufacturing capabilities. Invested in and built by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group (CRBG), this vessel is the first specialized engineering ship in China to be equipped with both a dynamic positioning and anchorage control system, boasting three world-class performance features and achieving centimeter-level pile-driving positioning accuracy. DYPOS Marine Engineering provided an integrated solution combining a dynamic positioning auxiliary control system with winch-controlled anchoring and positioning (DP+Winch Control), marking the first large-scale application of domestically developed dynamic positioning technology on ultra-large offshore engineering equipment.

  • Technological Breakthrough: Setting a New Industry Standard for Domestic DP Systems

The DYPOS DP5000 is the only domestically developed dynamic positioning control system officially authorized by Navis JSC. Through technology transfer and in-depth secondary development in China, it received type approval from the CCS in December 2024. The DYPOS DP5000 series DP system has broken the long-standing technological monopoly held by foreign manufacturers in this field, with its core competitiveness manifested in three key areas:

Safety and Compliance Aligned with International Standards: The system has obtained CCS type approval and SL0-level ship cybersecurity certification, meets the IACS UR E27 requirements for network resilience of onboard systems, and achieves international advanced levels of safety performance.

Modular Design for All-Scenario Adaptability: Featuring a flexible, configurable modular architecture, the system covers various specialized marine engineering vessels, including engineering support vessels, dredgers, pile-driving vessels, and cable-laying vessels, and supports the customization of functional modules based on different operational scenarios.

Localized Services for Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Equipped with standard professional DP system simulators and training facilities, and supported by a local team of engineers providing professional technical support, the system significantly reduces operational and maintenance costs compared to imported products.

  • Application Validation: Core Technologies Powering World-Class Engineering

The delivery of the “CRBG Pile No. 1” marks the first landmark application of the DYPOS DP5000 system in the field of ultra-large specialized engineering vessels, and represents the first successful implementation of integrated “DP+Winch Control” technology on a large pile-driving vessel.

Through the integrated DP+Winch Control solution, the system is equipped with DGNSS, wind speed and direction sensors, attitude sensors, and compasses, enabling real-time monitoring of wind, waves, currents, and vessel attitude. After data fusion and calculation by a high-speed processor, the system dynamically adjusts the output of the main thrusters and bow thrusters to generate precise counter-thrust. This allows for simultaneous high-precision positioning during pile driving operations and dynamic hull stability control in complex sea conditions, while also enabling real-time “automatic mooring” through winch control.

To date, the DYPOS DP5000 system has been successfully deployed and validated on various types of vessels both domestically and internationally. It has achieved industrialization, transitioning from laboratory-based R&D to world-class engineering applications, and has become a landmark achievement in the localization of high-end marine engineering equipment in China.

  • Business Structure: A Full-Cycle Service System Driven by Two Pillars

DYPOS adopts a dual-pillar operational framework of “R&D and Manufacturing + Service Empowerment,” establishing a fully integrated industrial ecosystem that spans technology R&D, production, deployment, and operations and maintenance. The manufacturing division focuses on overcoming technical challenges and producing core products, consistently delivering highly reliable marine engineering hardware and system solutions. The service division, leveraging a deep understanding of product technology, provides clients with specialized technical support throughout the entire project lifecycle. Through the specialized division of labor and deep integration between these two business segments, DYPOS delivers end-to-end, integrated, systematic services to clients, ensuring full control over service quality and rapid response to client needs.

As a specialized enterprise in China’s marine dynamic positioning control system sector, DYPOS consistently prioritizes technological innovation and client-centric approaches, dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and high-performance dynamic positioning solutions for the global maritime industry. From the successful delivery of the “CRBG Pile No. 1” to offshore engineering projects worldwide, the DYPOS DP5000 is leveraging the technological prowess of “Made in China” to support the implementation of the strategy to build a maritime power and to promote the global expansion of China’s offshore engineering equipment technology.
