Vietnamese Worker Found Dead at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard

A fatal incident has occurred at a shipyard owned by the South Korean shipbuilding group HD Hyundai, and the police have launched an investigation.

According to South Korean media reports, on March 18, a fatal incident occurred in the pre-coating area—a section responsible for the construction of medium-sized vessels—at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (formerly the HD Hyundai Mipo). A Vietnamese national, identified as Worker A, was discovered in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.

Sources revealed that on that day, an individual identified as “A” was found to have hanged himself in the deckhouse area of ​​the shipyard.

An official from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries confirmed: “A fatality did indeed occur, and the relevant authorities are currently investigating the specific circumstances of the accident… If the police investigation concludes that the incident was unrelated to the company, the details of the inquiry may not be publicly disclosed.”
