GTT announces that it has received, in the first quarter of 2026, an order from the shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua for the tank design of four new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) on behalf of a European ship-owner.

GTT will design the vessels’ membrane containment systems, each offering a total capacity of 174,000 m³.
It is reported that on January 21, Hudong-Zhonghua announced that it had secured an order for 4+2 LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, from TMS Cardiff Gas—a company under the Greek shipping magnate George Economou. This order marks Hudong-Zhonghua’s successful entry into the European market for large-scale LNG carriers, solidifying its position as China’s leading shipyard in the LNG sector. Although GTT’s order announcement did not explicitly disclose the identity of the shipowner, it is highly probable that the client is indeed TMS Cardiff Gas.
Separately, GTT recently announced that it has secured a supply contract from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) to provide the cargo tank design for an LNG carrier ordered by Sonangol Shipping, the state-owned shipping company of Angola.
