CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding Starts Construction of 307,000 DWT Crude Oil Tanker for Norway’s SEATANKERS

On March 11, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), kicked off construction of a 307,000 DWT crude oil tanker (T300K-109) for Norway’s SEATANKERS.

This vessel is the third VLCC currently under construction at CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding and also the first vessel built in collaboration with SEATANKERS. The commencement of this project marks another significant milestone in CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding’s deepening expertise in the VLCC sector.

The vessel measures 332.95 meters in length, 60 meters in beam, and has a design draft of 20.5 meters. Its cargo area features an optimized layout comprising 15 cargo oil tanks and 2 slop tanks, significantly enhancing loading efficiency and operational adaptability.

In terms of environmental protection and energy efficiency, the vessel’s main engine incorporates an EGRTC energy-saving system, meeting the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III nitrogen oxide emission requirements. It is equipped with an open-loop desulfurization system compliant with sulfur oxide emission control standards. Additionally, the installation of shaft generators further enhances energy conservation and emission reduction, fully embodying the principles of green and low-carbon construction.
