Zhoushan Changhong International Cuts Steel for Eighth 115,000 DWT Tanker in NAVIOS-Bound Series

On March 4, Zhoushan Changhong International held a steel-cutting ceremony for the eighth vessel in a series of 115,000 DWT product & crude oil tankers being built for Greek shipowner NAVIOS.

This series of vessels represents a new generation of LR2/Aframax deep-well pump tankers developed in accordance with the latest regulatory standards. With an overall length of approximately 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, and a depth of 21.5 meters, these vessels are designed to meet stringent environmental requirements.

Classed by LR, these vessels can utilize conventional fuel oil while also being retrofitted for cleaner fuels like methanol and LNG. The provision for medium-voltage shore power facilitates future integration into shore power systems, significantly reducing carbon and sulfur emissions from auxiliary generators during port stays. As the most effective environmental solution, HVSC is increasingly adopted by shipowners.

Additionally, the vessel employs advanced single-chamber, single-pump hydraulic-driven deep-well pumps (Framo), enhancing cargo versatility and delivering greater operational value.
