On February 4, Evergreen Marine Corporation formally signed a contract with Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, for the construction of sixteen 3,000 TEU container vessels. This signing sets a new record for the largest number of orders for a single ship type in Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding’s history, marking a new height in the strategic cooperation between the two companies.
The sixteen newly contracted 3,000 TEU container vessels align with the international shipping industry’s trend toward decarbonization, emission reduction, and green, low-carbon development.
