On January 13, Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, delivered the 50,000 DWT oil tanker DELOS T to its owner, TSAKOS. The vessel set sail from the shipyard’s dock and commenced operations.

TSAKOS has ordered two 50,000 DWT tankers from New Yangzi Shipbuilding, with this vessel being the first in the series. The vessel measures 183.00 meters in overall length, 32.20 meters in beam, 19.10 meters in depth, and has a design draft of 11.00 meters. The vessel was successfully completed through efficient collaboration between the shipowner’s on-site supervision team, Lloyd’s Register surveyors, and other relevant parties with the New Yangzi Shipbuilding team with all performance test results met design specifications.
On January 12, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group and shipowner TSAKOS jointly held a naming ceremony for the DELOS T and another sister vessel of the same type. Mr. VASSILIS PAPAGEORGIOU, Vice Chairman of TSAKOS Group, and Mr. DU Chengzhong, Deputy General Manager of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group and General Manager of New Yangtze Shipbuilding, signed the DELOS T delivery documents on behalf of their respective parties.
Founded in 1970, the TSAKOS Group placed its first order for new vessels in China in 2018, selecting Yangzijiang Shipbuilding to build two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers. Leveraging their respective expertise and shared commitment to green development, the two companies have joined forces again for this project of two 50,000 DWT oil tankers.
