Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding and Agricore Shipping Sign Contract for 2+2 63,500 DWT Bulk Carriers

On January 8, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding and Agricore Shipping (HK) Limited (Agricore) held a signing ceremony for the construction contract for 2+2 63,500 DWT bulk carriers.

Agricore’s core business includes maritime shipping and vessel chartering, operating a fleet of Capesize, Panamax, and Handymax bulk carriers. Its route network covers major ports across Europe, America, Asia, Australia, and Africa. The company maintains long-term, stable partnerships with numerous large state-owned enterprises, publicly listed companies, the world’s four major grain traders (ADM, BUNGE, CARGILL, LDC), and COFCO Group, enjoying an outstanding reputation and brand influence within the industry.

Since its restructuring, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding has secured orders for 20 bulk carriers of the same series, each with a deadweight tonnage of 63,500 tons. The company has earned widespread recognition from domestic and international shipowners and partners for its delivery capabilities, vessel performance, and construction quality. The successful signing with Agricore not only fully affirms Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding’s brand and technological strength but also marks the official commencement of their cooperative relationship.

It is understood that Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding is a subsidiary of Soho Holdings Group, a large state-owned enterprise group under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. On November 8, 2024, Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) officially changed its name to Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding and completed the corresponding industrial and commercial registration updates. Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) thus became a thing of the past.

According to publicly available information, Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou), before its name change, covered an area of ​​approximately 1,050 mu and had a coastline of 930 meters. It possessed one dry dock, one slipway, and two outfitting quays, equipped with two 500-ton gantry cranes and advanced shipbuilding equipment. Its main products included bulk carriers, container ships, heavy-lift vessels, multi-purpose vessels, and offshore engineering vessels of up to 100,000 deadweight tons.
