On November 26-27, China State Shipbuilding Corporation Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding held consecutive naming ceremonies for three vessels over two days, laying a solid foundation for achieving its fourth-quarter targets and securing success in its annual tasks.
Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding held the naming ceremony for the second 85,000 DWT bulk carrier, SIFNOS I, built for Sea Traders — the bulk carrier company owned by Greek shipping magnate George J. Procopiou — at the Longxue shipyard on November 26.

This type of vessel is the first “Haijing”-class bulk carrier independently designed by Huangpu Wenchong throughout the entire process. It is 228.9 meters long, 36 meters wide, and 20.15 meters deep. It is equipped with 7 cargo holds, hydraulic tank covers, shaft generators, desulfurization towers, and other equipment, which can accommodate various transportation needs such as ore, coal and grain.
Huangpu Wenchong held a naming ceremony for HMM NARU — the second 38,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessel of HMM, South Korea’s largest shipping company — at the Longxue Shipyard on November 27.

The vessel measures 182 meters in overall length, 30 meters in beam, and 16 meters in draft. It features three cargo holds, hydraulic folding hatch covers, hoistable hatch covers, two 400-ton and one 200-ton cranes, and a fan-shaped duct system. It offers flexible loading capabilities for large engineering equipment, containers, and various cargo types, with notable advantages in high speed and fuel efficiency. This represents one of the world’s leading heavy-lift vessel designs.
Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding held a naming ceremony for ECO MISTRAL — the fourth 1,250 TEU methanol dual-fuel open-top container ship in the series built for Singapore’s Xpress Feeders Group — at the Wenchong Shipyard on November 27.

Equipped with a dual-fuel, green methanol propulsion system, this vessel is specifically designed for European routes and boasts a flexible loading capacity of 1250 TEUs. Operated by Eastaway France, a subsidiary of Singapore’s X-Press Feeder Group, it is the first vessel in this series to be registered in France and has received high attention from the French maritime authorities.
It is reported that since the start of the fourth quarter, Huangpu Wenchong has been fully committed to advancing all construction tasks, sparking a surge in production. This fully demonstrates Huangpu Wenchong’s outstanding construction capabilities, management expertise, and team cohesion.
