On November 26, Huarun Dadong Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HRDD) held a naming ceremony for the 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock “HIDRAMAR ULTRA 22000” under construction for the Hidramar Group, marking the successful completion of a major milestone in the project.

The HIDRAMAR ULTRA 22000 floating dry dock measures 240 meters in length, 48 meters in width, with a pontoon height of 4.7 meters. Classed by Lloyd’s Register, the project has a 15-month contract duration and is scheduled for delivery in early February 2026. It will commence operations in the Canary Islands, Spain.
It is understood that the contract for the construction of a 22,000Mton floating dry dock between Spain’s Hidramar Group and HRDD was signed and took effect on November 14, 2024.
On January 22, 2025, HRDD held the steel cutting ceremony for the floating dock project; on August 10, the dock entered the dock for assembly; on August 20, the main hull of the dock was fully completed; on August 29, HRDD finished all structural and compartment tightness tests of the dock; on September 4, HRDD completed the underwater engineering and outer plate coating works of the dock.
At the naming ceremony, HRDD General Manager Huang Haihua stated, “The naming of the ‘HIDRAMAR ULTRA 22000’ floating dock is the culmination of the close cooperation between HRDD and the Hidramar Group. From project planning and design to construction and naming, it embodies the wisdom and hard work of everyone present, achieving the outstanding result of completing the assembly of a 10,000-ton steel structure in 26 days. It will carry the craftsmanship and expectations of both parties, injecting core momentum into the large-scale development of the Hidramar Group’s shipbuilding and repair business and the enhancement of its regional market leadership.”
