Globle Auto Carriers Takes Delivery of LNG-Powered 7,000 CEU PCTC, Boosting Green RoRo Fleet

On November 24, China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard successfully delivered the first 7,000 CEU dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) “GLOBAL ACONCAGUA” to shipowner Globle Auto Carriers (GAC).

This PCTC measures 199.9 meters in length, 38 meters in beam, with a design draft of 8.6 meters and a service speed of 19 knots. The vessel features 12 car decks with a total capacity of 7,000 passenger vehicles. The car decks incorporate both fixed and movable systems, significantly enhancing cargo handling efficiency and operational economics.

In terms of environmental protection, the vessel incorporates green, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly design principles. It is equipped with an advanced LNG dual-fuel system and shaft generator system, utilizing multiple environmental technologies to significantly reduce emissions of sulfur oxides, particulate matter and carbon. The vessel meets the International Maritime Organization’s Tier III emission standards, offering economic, energy-saving, environmentally friendly and highly efficient advantages.

It is understood that “GLOBAL ACONCAGUA” is the seventh PCTC delivered by China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard after the EPS-7000 PCTC, further strengthening the company’s capabilities in the field of PCTC and high-end shipbuilding, and laying a solid foundation for further cooperation with GAC shipowner in the future.
