CSSC Tianjin Shipbuilding Begins Construction on Second 307,000 DWT VLCC for Dynacom

On November 20, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding under Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) broke ground on the second 307,000 DWT crude oil carrier (Hull No.: T300K-105) for Greece’s Dynacom. This milestone signifies the shipbuilder’s sustained commitment to advancing large crude oil carrier construction and marks a significant phase in its development.

This vessel is the second conventionally fueled Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) constructed by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding. It measures 332.95 meters in length overall, 60 meters in beam, 30 meters in depth, and has a design draft of 20.5 meters. The cargo hold area features an optimized layout comprising 15 cargo oil tanks and 2 slop tanks.

In terms of environmental protection and energy efficiency, the vessel is equipped with an open-loop desulfurization system and features an EGRTC energy-saving system for the main engine. This configuration fully complies with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III nitrogen oxide emission requirements, demonstrating a green and low-carbon construction philosophy.

As a follow-up project for this ship type, the vessel has achieved further optimization and upgrades in construction techniques through thorough preparatory work. This launch not only accumulates more refined practical experience for subsequent VLCC series projects but also enriches CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding’s portfolio of high-end vessels, injecting robust momentum into the market competitiveness of CSSC Tianjin Shipbuilding.
