On November 19, China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard delivered the second Stena NewMax series ro-ro vessel, STENA CONNECTA, built for Stena.
The vessel has an overall length of 147.0 meters, a beam of 26.3 meters, a design draft of 5.2 meters, and a service speed of 16.5 knots. It can accommodate 12 passengers and 26 crew members, with a cargo capacity of 2,800 lane meters, maximizing freight volume.
The vessel is equipped with methanol fuel, a power battery system, shore power systems, and a rotor sail auxiliary propulsion system, making it the industry’s most advanced ro-ro cargo vessel integrating multiple clean energy technologies.
Representatives from Stena Shipowners, DNV Classification Society, and department heads and project team members from China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard attended the delivery ceremony.
