On November 21, China Merchants Industry Jinling Shipyard officially named and delivered the third 62,000 DWT ultra-handy multi-purpose vessel, Pacific Serenity, built for China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province.

This vessel is the third of four 62,000 DWT Supermax multi-purpose vessels contracted by both parties in 2023, representing a new generation of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly vessels.
This series of 62,000 DWT Supermax multi-purpose vessels is designed under the leadership of Shanghai Design and Research Institute of Shipbuilding (SDARI) and classified by China Classification Society (CCS). The vessel measures 199.9 meters in length overall and 32.26 meters in beam, with a design speed of 14.4 knots.
The vessel features CFD-optimized hull form design with five cargo holds. The port side is equipped with four cranes, three of which have a single-lift capacity of 150 tons. The vessel incorporates energy-efficient and environmentally friendly equipment, including large-diameter propeller drives, meeting the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) PHASE 3 international standards.
It is equipped with an energy management system developed by China Merchants Industry and will subsequently integrate the IMP Management System pioneered by CMES. This represents the latest generation of green, environmentally friendly, and economically efficient multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels.
