On November 17-18, Sanfu Shipbuilding held a steel cutting ceremony for a 14,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel; completed the signing and delivery of an 11,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel; and kicked off construction of a 500 TEU container vessel.
14,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessel Breaking Ground
On November 17, Sanfu Shipbuilding held the groundbreaking ceremony for the 14,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel, marking the official commencement of construction. Measuring 159.75 meters in length overall and 22.80 meters in beam, the vessel is equipped with two 350-tonne crane units, providing a combined lifting capacity of 700 tonnes for efficient loading of oversized cargo such as wind power equipment.

Its cargo hold features a three-deck structure, enabling versatile handling of containers, bulk cargo, and super-large engineering equipment, significantly enhancing cargo transportation flexibility.
11,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessel Delivered
On the same afternoon, Sanfu Shipbuilding held a signing and delivery ceremony for an 11,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel built for a German shipowner.

The vessel measures 149.95 meters in length overall and 23.20 meters in beam. Powered by a single fixed-pitch propeller and low-speed diesel engine, it features two 250-ton cranes on the port side of the deck, achieving a maximum combined lifting capacity of 500 tons.
The vessel features a spacious deck with an overall length of 128 meters and a large cargo hold extending 104 meters. Designed for open-top loading, the cargo hold maximizes both the single-compartment capacity and the open area of the weather deck. Equipped with two tiers of tweendeck hatch covers—adjustable at nine upper and lower positions—and two sets of movable bulkheads—vertically adjustable at multiple locations—the vessel achieves significantly enhanced cargo adaptability.
500TEU container ship breaks ground
On November 18, Sanfu Shipbuilding held a steel cutting ceremony for a 500TEU container vessel. Representatives from the shipowner, KR Classification Society, and Sanfu Shipbuilding attended the ceremony.

The vessel has an overall length of 116.00 meters and a beam of 20.00 meters. Addressing the common lack of port terminal facilities (particularly cranes) along its routes, the vessel is equipped with two 40-ton cranes featuring an uneven height design to optimize operational visibility. The vessel features five cargo holds with a standard container capacity of 514 TEU.
In terms of power configuration, the vessel features three standard generators supplemented by an innovative 600kW shaft generator. During normal operation, the vessel can rely solely on the shaft generator to meet all electrical demands, significantly reducing fuel consumption, operational costs, and emissions. Additionally, the newbuild was classified by KR with a methanol fuel option reserved during classification, facilitating future green retrofitting of the vessel.
