Recently, Bestway Marine & Energy Technology’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry, held a grand naming ceremony for the twin 5,900 DWT multi-purpose dry cargo vessels. The two newbuildings were named “BELTMAR” and “BOTHNIAMAR,” respectively.
This series of multi-purpose dry cargo vessels has achieved breakthroughs in several key technologies, including optimization of high-ice-class river-sea vessels, energy efficiency optimization and energy conservation and emission reduction, anti-icing and de-icing, intelligent operation and maintenance support, and intelligent loading optimization. Through these technological innovations, the project has successfully developed and commercialized a 5,900-ton high-ice-class, green, intelligent river-sea vessel. Furthermore, the project has also achieved significant industry-leading technological achievements, including a digital twin vessel intelligent operation and maintenance system and a multipurpose vessel intelligent loading system.
The vessel meets the ICE-1A ice class standard, capable of navigating through 1-meter-thick floating ice, and fulfills the highest environmental requirements set by the IMO (EEDI-III). Equipped with a single cargo hold featuring a large opening exceeding 70 meters, it offers exceptional loading capacity. Its comprehensive metrics—including ice class rating, environmental performance, and intelligent operation and maintenance capabilities—all reach internationally advanced levels.
On the same day, another 5,900 DWT multi-purpose dry cargo vessel successfully completed its keel-laying milestone. This not only signifies the vessel’s successful completion of preparations for launching onto the slipway but also marks its official entry into a new phase of construction.
Notably, as of now, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry has commenced construction on 15 vessels of its 5,900 DWT multi-purpose dry cargo vessel series, with 8 of them successfully delivered.
