On September 29, Zhoushan Changhong International officially delivered the 11,500-TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel container vessel “MSC ELIANA” built for the world’s largest liner company Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) to the shipowner via video link.
This is the second 10,000-TEU vessel of the same type delivered within a week, following the successful delivery of its sister vessel “MSC SERENA” on September 24, demonstrating its extremely high construction efficiency and excellent project execution capabilities.
The MSC Eliana and its sister vessel, the “MSC SERENA”, delivered this time, are technologically advanced, green, and environmentally friendly vessels. Notably, both vessels completed all delivery procedures within a week of their sea trials, 151 and 128 days ahead of their contractual delivery dates, respectively. Both vessels set new record-breaking delivery times in the history of Zhoushan Changhong International’s large container vessel construction.
It is reported that this series of vessels was jointly developed and designed by CIMC Offshore Research Institute (CIMC ORIC) and Zhoushan Changhong International. Each vessel has an overall length of 335 meters, a beam of 45.6 meters, a depth of 25 meters, and a design speed of 20 knots. Both vessels are classified by Lloyd’s Register (LR).
The successful delivery of “MSC ELIANA” further consolidates Zhoushan Changhong International’s leading position and good reputation in the global high-end shipbuilding market, especially in the field of clean energy vessels.
