Recently, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng has successfully won the bid for the construction project of Nanjing Tanker Corporation’s 9,500 m3 LEG carrier.
Nanjing Tanker Corporation is understood to have initiated its fleet renewal program in 2024. On September 9, 2024, Nanjing Tanker Corporation announced orders for four 50,000 DWT fuel-efficient MR tankers/chemical tankers from Guangzhou Shipyard International and one 18,000 DWT tanker/chemical tanker from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou. On November 28, the shipowner announced another order for four 65,000 DWT PANAMAX tankers from Guangzhou Shipyard International.
In related news, Nanjing Tanker Corporation recently selected Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) to construct two LR2 product/crude oil tankers for its fleet.
According to its official website, Nanjing Tanker Corporation (NJTC) is a professional tanker transportation company under China Merchants Group, and also a key backbone enterprise affiliated to China Yangtze Shipping Group engaged in river-sea intermodal transportation. Established in 1993, NJTC was listed on the A-share market in 1997 and has its headquarters in Nanjing. Currently, NJTC owns and controls a total of 73 vessels, with a combined deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 2.78 million and an annual transportation capacity of over 44 million tons.
