Dajin Heavy Industry Secures First Overseas Order for $42M Heavy Deck Carrier

On August 26, Dajin Heavy Industry issued an “Announcement on the Signing of the First Overseas Heavy Deck Carrier Construction Contract”.

The announcement disclosed that Panjin Dajin Offshore Engineering (Panjin Dajin), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dajin Heavy Industry, has signed a Heavy Cargo Vessel Construction Contract with a South Korean shipping company. Panjin Dajin will design, build, and deliver a 23,000 DWT heavy wind turbine deck carrier with an overall length of approximately 165 meters, a beam of 42 meters, and a depth of 10 meters.

The total contract value is approximately RMB 300 million (approximately US$42 million). The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027.

According to the announcement, the vessel meets the energy-saving and environmentally friendly emission requirements under the latest international standards. It is mainly used for cross-border transportation of oversized and overweight cargo such as offshore wind power equipment and offshore engineering equipment. It complies with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III emission standards, and the overall design has been certified by the Korean Register (KR).

It is worth noting that this contract is not only the first market-oriented shipbuilding order signed by Dajin Heavy Industry with external parties, but also the first market-oriented order successfully secured by Panjin Dajin while making every effort to ensure the construction of its own ultra-large wind power deck transport vessels. This marks a major breakthrough for the company in its strategic layout of building a global logistics system.
