Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Cut Steel for Second 5,500CEU LNG Dual-Fuel PCTC

Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry officially held a steel cutting ceremony for the second 5,500CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC (hull No. MW468-2) undertaken for East Pacific Shipping (EPS) on August 15, 2025.

The 5500CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC series has 11 decks, including 3 movable decks, which can carry passenger cars, trucks, buses, rolling cargo, new energy vehicles, and IMDG-packaged dangerous goods within the specified range.

The MW468-2 PCTC, equipped with an advanced LNG dual-fuel propulsion system, is a car carrier that embodies the mission of green shipping.

The successful commencement of construction marks the transition of the project from design blueprints to the actual shipbuilding phase. In the future, once this series of vessels is officially delivered, they will set sail for new horizons in global automobile trade with greater efficiency and lower carbon emissions.
