CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding Secures Order for Two 680TEU Container Ships from Indonesia’s Meratus Line

Recently, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Guangxi Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding) together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC), signed a contract for the construction of two 680TEU container ships with PT. Meratus Line, a leading shipping enterprise in Indonesia.

It is reported that this signing marks that the number of ships of the same series built by CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding for PT.Meratus Line has exceeded 10, further highlighting the company’s competitiveness in the field of shipbuilding in Southeast Asia.

CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding adheres to the mission of building a strategic fulcrum for CSSC to base itself in the Beibu Gulf and face industrial development in Southeast Asia. It deeply cultivates the Southeast Asia, leverages the Beibu Gulf’s geographical advantages to concentrate on niche areas such as small and medium-sized container ships and multi-purpose ships. As a result, it has formed a full-chain service capability covering design optimization, modular construction and after-sales operation and maintenance.

CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding has established a client network covering shipping companies in Europe and Southeast Asia, and its ships serve a wide range of inter-island transport and regional trade routes. With the continued construction of the Pinglu Canal, the company plans to further expand its collaboration in areas such as new energy ships and specialized transport ships.
