On July 9, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers named an 85,000 DWT new multi-purpose vessel “CSPC PEARL” at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian). “CSPC PEARL” is the third vessel in the fourth-generation upgraded series of multi-purpose pulp carriers and currently the largest multi-purpose pulp carrier in terms of deadweight tonnage globally.
CSPC PEARL is 225 meters long, 36 meters wide and has a cruising range of 25,000 nautical miles. The vessel has strong cargo suitability, economy, reliability, energy saving and environmental protection, and is currently the world’s largest new multi-purpose vessel and professional pulp transport vessel.
In addition to meeting the loading requirements of pulp cargo, it can also be used to load high-speed trains, wind power equipment, large-scale mechanical equipment, extra-long and extra-heavy steel pipe pile structures, etc. The vessel is also equipped with a cargo hold water spray system and a “foldable commercial vehicle special frame”, and is specially equipped with a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and early warning system for the transportation of new energy vehicles.
It is reported that after the delivery of the vessel, the maiden voyage is planned to carry cargo from domestic ports to countries such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
