Hartree Partners Christens Two MR Chemical Tankers at Jinglu Shipyard

On June 28, Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (Jinglu Shipyard) held a naming ceremony for two MR chemical tankers “WECO MEMPHIS BELLE” and “WECO SENNA” built for Hartree Partners.

The two vessels are new generation MR chemical tankers built by Jinglu Shipyard, with a length of 183.1 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters and a design draft of 11.0 meters. The vessels are equipped with 20 cargo holds, which are the high-end vessels of the same type in the world, and can transport 14 different kinds of goods at the same time, including hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and other highly corrosive goods.

The vessel uses green environmental protection technologies such as the Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR), desulfurization tower and shaft generator, which greatly reduces the emission of greenhouse gases such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides and carbon dioxide, and achieves the integration and improvement of high-efficiency energy saving and environmental protection performance, showing the innovative advantages of this type of vessel in technical configuration and practical application. It is also equipped with pre-propeller energy-saving duct and a high-efficiency twist rudder (with rudder ball) to further reduce fuel consumption and improve the maneuverability.

In addition, the vessel has obtained the class notation reserved for methanol dual fuel, namely: Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D (TA, BK, FS, ME, AB), 3 (S), which provides ship owners with maximum flexibility in using green alternative fuels in the future and serves as a model for promoting “green and low-carbon” construction in the industry.
