COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Welcomes World’s Largest Pulp Carrier “CSPC JADE” with Advanced Green Technology

On June 24, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) named and delivered the new 85,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel “CSPC JADE” to COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, which is currently the world’s largest professional pulp vessel.

The CSPC JADE, measuring 225 meters in length and 36 meters in width, is designed with a service speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 25,000 nautical miles, making it an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly green intelligent vessel. The cargo holds of the ship are all box-type and equipped with rotary dehumidifiers, which can fully ensure the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation.

In addition to meeting the loading requirements of pulp customers, this series of vessels can also carry high-speed trains, wind power equipment, new energy vehicles, large machinery and equipment, and extra-long and heavy steel pipe pile structures. To ensure the safe transportation of new energy vehicles, this series of vessels has added a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and warning system.

It is reported that the “CSPC JADE” is the second 85,000 DWT new multi-purpose vessel of the series built and delivered by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian), and the fifth new multi-purpose vessel of the series connected to COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. The maiden voyage of the vessel will be put into the American route, and it is planned to load transformer cabinets and energy storage cabinets from domestic ports to North America.

COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers currently owns and controls more than 170 vessels of various types, and its special transport fleet is among the largest in the world in terms of size and strength. In recent years, the company has successively operated more than 60 multi-purpose vessels of various types, including 62,000 DWT, 68,000 DWT, 72,000 DWT, 77,000 DWT and 85,000 DWT, and continuously improved its fleet capacity and operational capabilities.
