On June 12, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng delivered the 16th 16,300 DWT LNG dual-fuel chemical tanker, “FURE VALӦ,” built for Swedish shipowner Furetank was officially delivered and put into operation.
Equipped with 12 specially coated cargo holds, the vessel has a total cargo capacity of 20,000 cubic meters. The navigation and communication systems and bridge design meet the INS-IBS-1 classification requirements for integrated bridges, which is currently the highest classification requirement for single-person bridges by Classification Society BV. The vessel meets the requirements of the third phase of the EEDI index and IMO Tier III, is green and intelligent, and it can effectively reduce carbon emissions.
It is worth mentioning that in 2022, the sister vessel of this series were moored in the Thames in central London. As many as 500 people from the shipping industry, including the IMO Secretary-General and 170 representatives, were invited to visit the vessel. They had in-depth exchanges on the concepts of green vessels and reducing carbon emissions and received full recognition.
Furetank and China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng started their cooperation in 2015, and the two sides have established a strategic partnership for nearly ten years. It is reported that Furetank adopts a batch ordering model, and has issued a total of 22 vessel construction contracts through 11 order batches, gradually transforming the design blueprint into actual capacity.
