On June 4th, Ningbo Ocean Shipping issued a public announcement on the bidding results for its four 2,700 TEU container ship construction project. CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid for this project, with the construction cost of each vessel being RMB 324 million.
According to the previously released bidding announcement, the container ship is approximately 185.99 meters long, 35.20 meters wide and 17.2 meters deep.
On April 30, Ningbo Ocean Shipping announced that it plans to use not more than RMB 1.4 billion (about US$195 million) to invest in the construction of four 2,700 TEU container ships, aiming to further optimize the fleet structure and expand the fleet size.
Ningbo Ocean Shipping indicated that the investment in building new vessels will help further optimize the company’s fleet structure, expand the fleet size, actively build a high-standard fleet with a reasonable structure and strong competitiveness, continuously strengthen the company’s route service capability, and enhance the company’s competitiveness in the market.
As a major shipbuilder of feeder container ships, a few days ago, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding also received an order from Jiangsu Ocean Shipping for 4+2 1900TEU container ships.
