Recently, Ariake shipyard, a subsidiary of Japan Marine United (JMU), has delivered the 181,000 dwt energy-saving bulk carrier “Frontier Wish” to Southern Route Maritime, a subsidiary of Nissen Kaiun, one of the largest privately owned shipping companies in Japan.
“Frontier Wish” is the “largest” specification vessel that can be accommodated in the port of Dunkirk, France. The Port of Dunkirk is one of the few ports in Northern Europe capable of handling large fully loaded bulk carriers.
Frontier Wish” is the ninth vessel in JMU’s N-181,000 dwt bulk carrier series. The vessel has an overall length of 292 meters, a beam of 45 meters, a depth of 24.55 meters and a draught of 18.23 meters.
The vessel is equipped with the energy-saving devices “Super Stream Duct”, “SURF-BULB” and “ALV-Fin” patented by JMU, and adopts a number of energy-saving technologies, which can significantly reduce fuel consumption and meet the requirements of the Phase III of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI).
In addition, the vessel is equipped with a ballast water treatment system, is equipped to maintain an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) and complies with Tier III emissions standards for nitrogen oxides (NOx).
This year, JMU will deliver at least four 82,400 dwt bulk carriers, and currently hold order book for at least 14 containerships, with deliveries scheduled until 2028.
