Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Delivers Milestone 50th LNG Carrier ‘AL TUWAR’ to QatarEnergy

On May 16th, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding signed and delivered the 174,000m3 LNG carrier “AL TUWAR” for QatarEnergy, which is the company’s 50th LNG carrier and an important symbol of the company’s high-end, intelligent and green development. A naming ceremony was held on April 17th.

Classed by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and China Classification Society (CCS), “AL TUWAR” is the fifth generation of ‘Changheng’ series LNG carriers independently developed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.

The vessel is 299 meters in total length, 46.4 meters in width and 26.25 meters in depth. It is a vivid embodiment of the technical strength and innovation ability of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and highlights the leading position of CSSC in the field of high-end shipbuilding. It provides strong equipment support for the global energy transportation industry.
