HD KSOE Secures New Contract to Build Two LPG Carriers

On May 2, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai Group’s shipbuilding business, announced that it has signed a contract with an African shipping company to build two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers.

The new vessel will be built by HD Hyundai Mipo and is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2027. The total value of the order is approximately US$161.8 million, and the cost of a single vessel is US$80.9 million.

Including the latest order, HD KSOE has won 51 new vessel orders worth approximately US$6.31 billion this year, completing approximately 35% of its annual order target of US$18.05 billion.

In terms of ship types, it includes 34 container ships, 4 oil tankers, 4 liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels, 2 ethane carriers, 6 LPG/ammonia carriers, and 1 LNG carrier.
