Indonesia’s Lumoso receives first 66,000 DWT bulk carrier from Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering

On October 31, Chinese shipbuilder Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering named and delivered the first 66,000 DWT bulk carrier “LUMOSO SAHABAT” to Indonesia’s Lumoso Company.

Classed by ABS, “LUMOSO SAHABAT” has a total length of 196.0 meters, a beam of 36.0 meters and a depth of 17.0 meters with a main engine power of 6400KW (MCR).

The 66000 DWT bulk carrier meets Till-Ⅲ emissions, and both the main and auxiliary engines are equipped with SCR systems, makes it a green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly shallow-draft ocean-going foreign trade bulk carrier. It has a large cargo capacity and strong adaptability, and has more competitive advantages in fuel consumption, endurance, and economy compared to ships of the same level.

As the first ship of the 66,000 DWT series, “LUMOSO SAHABAT” is an important breakthrough and innovation of Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, and an important cooperation result of Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering and LUMOSO in deepening cooperation and seeking common development.

It is understood that Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has built another two 66,000 DWT bulk carriers for Lumoso. One is in commissioning stage and is scheduled to start sea trials on November 4; the other will be launched on December 3.
