YuChai Marine Power Wins Main Engine Contract for 1064TEU Container Ship

Recently, YuChai Marine Power Co., LTD (hereinafter referred to as “Yuchai Marine Power”) signed a contract for 6 sets of 6S50ME-C9.6-HPSCR TierIII main engines of 1064 TEU container vessels, with Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.

It is reported that this is the first cooperation between YuChai Marine Power and Dajin Heavy Industry.

During the signing ceremony, the two sides conducted in-depth communication and discussion on the subsequent cooperation on methanol-fueled host projects that they are ready to carry out. With the official launch of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) MEPC 8 emission reduction target and the imminent entry into force of the European Union carbon tax policy, the shipping industry is accelerating the process of energy transformation. Shipping giants have been laying out environmentally friendly vessels, and methanol fuel is becoming one of the mainstream choices for shipping companies to invest in new vessels to meet the increasingly stringent emission regulations.

YuChai Marine Power Co., LTD. was established in 2009. Yuchai Marine Power possesses Win GD and MAN two-stroke engine production licenses to produce and manufacture YCMP-Win GD series and YCMP-MAN B&W series marine low-speed engines, with an annual production capacity of 110 units/1.2 million horsepower. The products are widely used in bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, engineering vessels, large fishing vessels and other types of ships.
