On September 29, BOMESC Offshore Engineering announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tianjin Bomesc Offshore Engineering, had signed a contract with Single Buoy Moorings for the construction of topside modules for a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) unit. The contract became effective on September 24, 2026, with a value of approximately RMB 1.6–2.1 billion (roughly USD 239–313 million).
Based on the announcement, Tianjin Bomesc Offshore Engineering’s main scope of work includes the design, material procurement, and construction of the FPSO topside module. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2028, and the module will be built at the BOMESC Lingang Offshore Heavy Industry construction base. Once completed, this type of FPSO will be deployed in South America.
BOMESC stated that, as the first construction site in China for SingleBuoyMoorings’ topside modules, the company delivered the FPSO SEPETIBA—the first FPSO project for which the entire process, from hull construction to topside module fabrication and final assembly, was completed domestically. The successful execution of this FPSO project will further strengthen the partnership between the two parties and lay a solid foundation for future business development.
