On September 23, Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping released a record of investor relations activities.
During the event, Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping outlined its new shipbuilding program. To date, the company has signed contracts for four 1,100 TEU and eight 1,800 TEU newbuilds, all of which are under construction in accordance with the established plan. This investment not only meets the need for additional capacity on the company’s shipping routes but also optimizes its capacity structure, thereby securing its differentiated competitive advantage.
Jinjiang Shipping states that, to date, it has signed contracts for the construction of four 1,100 TEU and eight 1,800 TEU newbuild vessels, all of which are proceeding according to plan. This investment in new tonnage not only meets the need for additional capacity on the company’s routes but also optimizes its capacity structure, thereby securing its differentiated competitive advantage.
Regarding its “Silk Road Express” services for Southeast Asia, Jinjiang Shipping notes that the Asian region maintains economic resilience, global supply chains are trending toward fragmentation and shortening, and China and ASEAN have remained each other’s largest trading partners for six consecutive years. The company’s express services align with the current regional demand for secure and stable supply chains. Since 2023, the company has launched several “Silk Road Express” products, such as the Ho Chi Minh Silk Road Express and the Thailand Silk Road Express.
Regarding the upgrade of route linkages between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, Jinjiang Shipping stated that the implementation of the RCEP has driven development across the entire Asian region, leading to more frequent trade between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. In May 2025, the company will link the Ho Chi Minh City Silk Road Express with the Kansai, Japan route; in January 2026, it will launch a direct express service between Thailand and the Kanto region of Japan, leveraging high on-time performance to achieve seamless integration of routes across Northeast and Southeast Asia.
Regarding its extended logistics business, Jinjiang Shipping stated that it will continue to deepen these services to empower its core container shipping operations. On one hand, the company has launched an end-to-end intermodal service to Phnom Penh, Cambodia; expanded multimodal transport services at ports such as Nansha and Dalian; and inaugurated the “Lanzhou–Lianyungang–Shanghai” sea-rail intermodal service. On the other hand, the company has commenced operations for its logistics joint venture in Vietnam and successfully signed an agreement for a logistics joint venture in Thailand.
