On July 21, Wuhu Shipyard held a steel-cutting ceremony for a 38,000 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker being built for Stolt Tankers, marking the official entry of the fifth vessel in this series into the substantive construction phase.
According to previous reports, Wuhu Shipyard signed a contract with Stolt Tankers in November 2023 for the construction of 6+6 stainless steel chemical/product tankers (38,000 DWT), with the first batch of vessels expected to be delivered between 2026 and 2028.
Construction of the first vessel in the series began in July 2025; the ship features 30 duplex stainless steel (2205) cargo tanks, is classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR), and flies the Liberian flag. Designed by Sweden’s FKAB, the vessel measures 184.9 meters in length, 32.2 meters in molded breadth, and 16 meters in molded depth.
