On June 26, Chuandong Shipbuilding signed a delivery agreement for an 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker with Nanjing Yangyang Chemical Transportation and Trading Co., Ltd.

The vessel has an overall length of 119.8 meters, a beam of 19.6 meters, and a deadweight of 11,300 metric tons. Designed for a speed of 12.5 knots, it is classified by CCS and flies the Chinese flag. The cargo holds are constructed of 2205 duplex stainless steel, offering exceptional corrosion resistance and enabling the safe transport of various high-end liquid chemicals, making the vessel suitable for global voyages. The vessel complies with IMO Tier III emission requirements and has been awarded the G-EP and G-ECO eco-ship designations, demonstrating industry-leading environmental performance.
It is reported that Chuan Dong Shipbuilding currently has an order backlog of 10 vessels and more than 10,000 metric tons of steel structure products. The company has implemented measures such as closed-loop management, checklist-based oversight, and a dedicated task force for off-site vessel deliveries to ensure the successful completion of deliveries at each stage.
Five of the vessels were delivered ahead of schedule. The first vessel in the series—a 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker for SC Shipping—was delivered two months early with a construction period of just 16 months, setting a new record for the shortest build time among first-in-series vessels of its type.
For an 8,000 DWT product oil tanker ordered by Nanjing Yangyang Chemical Transportation and Trading, the vessel achieved the towing milestone just 60 days after launching, reached the sea trial milestone 40 days after arriving at port, and completed all rectification work 25 days after returning from sea trials. Meanwhile, a 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker for the same owner set a new shipyard record for the shortest construction period for a stainless steel chemical tanker.
