On June 23, France’s GTT announced that it had signed a contract with Samsung Heavy Industries to provide liquid cargo tank designs for three new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers ordered by a U.S. shipowner.

Each vessel has a cargo hold capacity of 174,000 cubic meters and will be equipped with GTT’s proprietary Mark III Flex membrane containment system. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2029.
This is the second liquid cargo tank design contract GTT has signed with Samsung Heavy Industries this month. On June 9, the two parties entered into a liquid cargo tank design contract for two 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers commissioned by a Greek shipowner. These new vessels will also be equipped with GTT’s proprietary Mark III Flex membrane containment system and are expected to be delivered between the first and second quarters of 2029.
