China Merchants Heavy Industry Jiangsu Secures Order for 20,000 m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel from CM Energy and Seacon Joint Venture

On May 26, CM Energy Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony with Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited and China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. to sign a joint venture agreement for the construction of 1+1 20,000 m³ liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels. The first vessel is expected to be delivered in 2028.

CM Energy stated that the 20,000 m³ LNG bunkering vessel currently under construction features dual Type-C independent cargo tanks, with an evaporation rate as low as 0.16% per day and a maximum bunkering rate of 2,000 cubic meters per hour, enabling it to efficiently meet the bunkering needs of large LNG-powered vessels. The vessel is equipped with a Wärtsilä dual-fuel engine that complies with IMO Tier III emission standards, offering excellent environmental performance.

The vessel is equipped with a high-performance steering system, side thrusters, and intelligent safety systems, and supports unmanned engine room operations, achieving internationally advanced levels in safety, operational efficiency, and low-carbon performance.
